MDF Skirting Boards
There are a whole range of skirting boards in the market for your pickings. MDF has been the most popular in recent years because it is a great quality material made from medium density fibre which is a bit like wood pulp that is compressed to make it hard, then cut into square sheets of MDF. These sheets are then sliced up in to thin strips of mdf which are ready to be profiled. Once profiles you have perfectly formed MDF Skirting Boards
Any other types of skirting boards are going to be in oak, pine or some other type of wood.

Architraves
Architraves are the surrounds that you see on the outside of a door frame, running from the skirting boards around the door and down again. The architrave is designed to cover any gaps between the door and the wall because there is usually a small gap, or rough edges on the plastering when the decoration has been completed.
Oak architraves are the choice of the modern luxury home whereas pine or mdf architraves are found in the vast majority of homes.
MDF Skirting Boards
Producing MDF skirting boards architraves and other skirting boards and mouldings in our factory is a very specialist production chain. We must ensure that the correct machinery and cutting tools are used for cutting and profiling the MDF to result in a neat finish that will last for many years. MDF sheets are bought in large packs of many sheets before being cut into boards of specific board heights such as 100mm – often referred to as 4 inch boards, 125mm which is also referred to as 5 inch boards, and 150mm boards which is referred to as 6 inch boards. There is now however we now a much wider range of profile sizes including 100mm, 125mm, 150mm, 165mm, 170mm, 200mm, 225mm, 250mm, 270mm and 300mm as standard. The thickness of the skirting boards we do is normally 18mm as this is the industry standard. However, with the mature production skill we have, we are capable to do 15mm, 25mm and 38mm as customized thickness subject to the quantity.
